Position is Remote Eligible and has been determined that the duties of the position can be performed effectively from a remote worksite, however, final determination of the Duty Station/Location will be made by Management.
Duties
SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Assists the Division of Human Services in providing administrative and programmatic support and reviews Financial Assistance and Social Services (FASS) applications for appropriate services and resource and referral information, including General Assistance, Indian Child Welfare Act, Child Foster Care, Emergency Youth Shelters, Substance Abuse, Elder Services, Housing Program, IIM Services, and Services to Children and Families.
Provides professional customer services to clients, partners and other interested parties.
Provides technical information and assistance to internal and external clients, partners and other interested parties regarding human services programs and resources.
Receives, reviews and processes incoming mail, reports, guidance and other materials and directs to appropriate personnel.
Prepares correspondence, forms, reports and other communications supporting the administrative and operational functions of the division.
Uploads applicable data into internal and external database systems.
Monitors and maintains internal and external filing systems consistent with in-effect procedures, guidance and regulations.
Supports the internal and external needs of the Division.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for Technical and Medical Support Positions, and Individual Occupational Requirements for GS-0186; Social Services Aid and Assistant Series).
Individual Occupational Requirements
Specialized Experience (for positions at GS-4 and above).
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-5: In addition to the basic requirement,I have at least one year of full-time specialized experience or the equivalent, comparable to at least the GS-4 grade level in the Federal Service (obtained in either the public or private sector). This specialized experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-04 level in the Federal service as described in the vacancy announcement. Examples Include: Group leader in community or residential recreation or training programs; Counselor in a youth summer camp; Instructor in a training program for the development of job skills; Work that demonstrated the ability to be responsible for and to lead and train members of a job crew; Group activities leader in the Armed Services; Unit leader-monitor-proctor for a dormitory group in a boarding school or other residential facility; Aid or assistant to professional or specialist staff in such fields as personnel (private or government), employment guidance in a vocational or academic institution, social service, or manpower development; Aid or assistant to professional or associate staff engaged in work of a social services nature in private, public welfare, government program, or community organizations, or in voluntary activities; Aid or assistant to professional or specialist staff working with individuals who are addicted to or abuse alcohol and/or drugs.

I have successfully completed a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree that (a) included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of subjects directly related to the work of the position; (b) included a major in social behavior, human behavior, or health care or; (c) was supplemented by experience in activities that afforded the opportunity to acquire and demonstrate the skills required by the position. (The supplementary experience may have been gained, for example, in part-time or summer employment, in volunteer social welfare or recreation programs, or in community organizations.)
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-6: In addition to the basic requirement,1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sector) which includes work involving applying practical knowledge of a wide range of social casework, family therapy, systems theory and community organization; direct provision of child welfare services, maintaining active agency participation in the varied advocacy and intervention programs and the coordination of and required cooperation with allied social services, health and other agencies; providing counseling services; developing and maintaining a formalized case management system which documents the workflow of case services with individual case plans; provides technical assistance on all aspects of social services programs and activities. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-7: In addition to the basic requirement, I have at least one year of full-time specialized experience or the equivalent, comparable to at least the GS-6 grade level (obtained in either the public or private sector). This experience is work involved in social welfare or employment and training programs; assistant to professional or associate staff engaged in work of a social services nature in private, public welfare, government program or community organizations or in voluntary services; employment guidance in a vocational or academic institution, social services of manpower development. These examples are not all inclusive (refer to the summary of duties for specialized experience).

EDUCATION: One full year of graduate education directly related to the work of the position meets the requirement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the position to be filled.
