This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY AIRCRAFT PILOT (T32), Position Description Number D0644000 and is part of the FL AASF 1, National Guard.
Duties
As a SUPERVISORY AIRCRAFT PILOT, GS-2181-14, you will manage and direct the activities and functions of the AASF in support of the state mission which includes flight operations; proficiency training of aviators and crewmembers; aviation safety; and the organizational, direct support, and limited general support maintenance of all assigned aircraft. Manages assigned fiscal, material and personnel resources by determining the organizational structure within manning and budgetary restraints and guidelines and ensures that optimum use is made of all assigned resources through effective management techniques. Responsible for supporting the State ARNG aviation program and ensuring that adequate aircraft and aviators are available to accomplish assigned aviation missions. Such missions include, but are not limited to aviation support of other nonaviation units, developing and maintaining high level aviator skills, participating in and support of military exercises and operations, training and preparati on for mobilization and responding as necessary to aviation requirements in natural disaster or state emergency situations. Responsible for proper utilization of aircraft in the performance of all missions both tactical and administrative.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Must submit a DA form 759 to be considered for the position.
- Must submit the most recent SF50 to be considered for the position.
Qualifications
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open ONLY to ON BOARD excepted permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the Florida National Guard.
PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.
FLNG BUS Code 8888: This position is "excluded" and ineligible for labor organization representation.
MILITARY GRADE(S): Officer; O5 thru O6

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS14 Must have at least three years working experiences in military service aviation programs (active duty or reserve components); or, in the Army National Guard Aviation Support facilities; or, Air National Guard Operations Groups; experienced in reading and applying mission tasks, intelligence reports, and weather information; experienced in supervising and conducting mission planning, mission preparations, filing flight plans, and conducting crew briefings; experienced in aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, equipment assessments, and mission manning; experienced in operating aircraft controls and equipment; experienced in performing and supervising the work procedures involved in navigation, in-flight refueling; search and rescue operations; and, surveillance and reconnaissance missions; experienced in conducting and supervising crew member training on simple to complex mission specific tasks; experienced in developing plans and policies, monitoring operations, and briefing commanders; experienced in flight theory, air navigation, meteorology, flying directives, aircraft operating procedures, and mission tactics; experienced in planning and preparing for missions; experienced in piloting and instructing others in piloting specific air-frame/military aircraft; experienced in various piloting administrative tasks performed in support of Army or Air National Guard aviation programs; experienced in aviation unit quality control management programs.
Education
Must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university.
Must have an Federal Aviation Administration certifications awarded from accredited civilian aviation program or must have a aviation certifications from accredited military aviation schools.
