This position is located in Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), Facilities Services Directorate (FSD), Federal Facilities Division (FFD), Pentagon Building Management Office (PBMO), Operations and Maintenance (O&M) program. The Pentagon operates on a 24-hour, seven day a week basis and provides services to personnel and equipment essential to national defense.

Duties

This is a Direct Hire Public Notice, under this recruitment, applications will be accepted for each location and/or installation identified in this Public Notice and selections are made for vacancies as they occur. This position is being filled under Direct Hire Authority (DHA) in accordance with Section 1109 of FY 2020 NDAA; P.L. 116-92 and Section 9905 of Title 5, U.S.C. Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following: Responsible for operating, trouble shooting, and repairing the building automation system and its components. Conducts all operational testing of new and modified systems. Required to perform repairs, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance task on heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), steam, domestic water and chilled water disstribution system.

  • This position requires the employee to work rotating shifts, weekends, overtime, holidays and may be subject to call 24 hours a day.

  • This position requires wear of a uniform in the performance of duties.

Read and interpret blueprints; diagnose and repair various computerized control systems; perform program changes/calibrations to computerized control systems; diagnose and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), steam, domestic water, and chilled distribution systems; conducting operational testing of new and modified systems; and investigating major equipment failures and experience leading other trade-persons to complete projects. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
