This position is located in the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), Facilities Services Directorate (FSD), Facilities Operations Services Division (FOSD), Facility Operations Group, and Pentagon Heating and Refrigeration Plant (PHRP). The purpose of this position is to serve as an engineering consultant and technical expert on utility infrastructure, systems and equipment.

Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following: Perform support to related complex research, development, project engineering/program management evaluation. Exercise technical responsibility for planning and conducting various projects of broad scope and unconventional requiring the ability to interpret, select and extend pertinent precedents or guides. Analyze data and study characteristics of materials relating to engineering systems, processes and structures. Exercise creativity and critical judgment in developing new methods and recommending solutions to complex problems.
