You will serve as a Region Inspector/Investigator within the Region Inspector General Office of COMNAVREGSW SDIEGO. You will be assigned as the Naval Weapon Station Seal Beach (NWSSB) Installation IG and your office will be located at the NWSSB Installation in Seal Beach, CA.

Duties

You will assess compliance with regulatory requirements and effectiveness of ongoing operations to confirm the ability to accomplish the organization's mission. You will conduct Inspector General Hotline audit reviews and inspections for command programs in the region. You will advise senior managers or supervisors within a command to offer direction on the implementation of the Management Internal Control (MIC) Program. You will create written briefings to make recommendations for corrective action.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal Service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Leading, managing, and performing inspections 2) Managing Inspector General Hotline program; 3) Investigating allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, or mismanagement and into the most sensitive nature; 4) Conducting personal interviews to gather information or evidence; 5) Reviewing and analyzing investigation findings to determine whether further actions or referrals are required; 6) Examining internal controls, practices, and providing oversight to deter fraud, waste, and mismanagement; and 7) Implementing the Manager's Internal Control program.
