You will serve as a Housing Management Assistant in the Unaccompanied Housing of NAVAL SUBMARINE BASE NEW LONDON.

Duties

You will coordinate maintenance, repair, or alteration work required for housing facilities to accomplish needed improvements. You will oversee room assignments to ensure check-in and check-out procedures are performed for all tenants. You will maintain automated records on the occupancy of housing facilities. You will maintain records on storage, inventory, and movement of furniture or furnishings. You will brief applicants on policies and procedures related to housing and occupancy to ensure maximum usage of housing resources.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You are required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing housing program information via telephone, email and in person; 2) Maintaining a housing program electronic database; 3) Receiving and responding to complaints or issues related to maintenance of rooms and facilities; 4) Inspecting rooms for cleanliness, appearance and maintenance discrepancies. OR
Have successfully completed a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement
OR
Have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
