Duties

You will Plan, coordinate, and direct the operation of the Motor Transport Department. You will attend meetings to represent transportation operations. You will provide information on manpower, vehicle availability, and other requirements to meet the needs of the station under varying conditions. You will review requests for use of vehicles on a one-time or recurring basis to assure requirements are valid and cannot be accomplished by alternate means. You will manage and control leased vehicles either through General Service Administration (GSA) or local lease. You will oversee the coordination of maintenance of heavy mobile equipment, automotive equipment, and the se4vicing of other assigned vehicles. You will develop operational plans in support of the Air Station in accordance with established procedures and requirements.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You must possess and maintain a current valid United States drivers license and maintain on-base driving privileges.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • Work is principally sedentary and involves minimal risks and observance of safety precautions typical of an office setting.
  • This position is involved with projects that pertain to Critical Infrastructure Protection and Anti Terrorism/force Protection planning and, as such, requires a Secret Clearance in the performance of duties.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Develops and formulates the operation of the Motor Transport Department plans, policies, budgets, and procedures consistent with the mission of the organization and in accordance with established regulations and policies.
