About the Position: Performs a variety of accounting duties for Tooele Army Depot Directorate of Program, Planning, and Control, including payroll, collection vouchers, transfer payments, cost transfers, obligations and accruals.

Duties

Record commitments, obligations and accruals for a variety of documents (Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests, Transportation Documents, Misc Pay Documents, Permanent Change of Station orders, etc. ) in Logistics Modernization Program (LMP). Receive commitment and obligation documents from a variety of sources. Input/update commitments and obligations in Logistics Modernization Program (LMP). Research transactions (unmatched disbursements) and work with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS), Contracting, Budget, and other offices to resolve. Record/input cost transfers for both labor and no-labor costs in Logistics Modernization Program (LMP). Maintain and update the cost transfer document number log. Serve as back-up to the Civilian Payroll Customer Service Representative.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Financial Management Level I Certification is required within 2 years of appointment.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing an automated accounting system to enter transaction data; preparing cost accounting reports for analysis; reviewing purchase orders, vouchers, or invoices to verify account codes or amounts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as accounting or finance. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Accounting OperationsConcepts, Policies, and Principles of AccountingFinancial Management Systems
