Duties

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for ?????the management and control of the district's short and long-range budget. Typical work assignments will include: Develop and maintain a comprehensive financial management program. Manage the certification of obligations for the office. Prepare office budget estimates. Provide guidance and direct assistance to management in the preparation of budget estimates. Provide a wide variety of budgetary reports. Controls administrative and program funds to assure that all issuances are not in excess of latest approved allowances. Serves as Certifying Officer in the payment of bills; conducts periodic reviews, and develops solutions and procedural refinements to correct problems.

Requirements

• You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
• Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
• You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
• If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.

Qualifications

GS-12 To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level as defined below. Specialized experience Monitoring the execution of a budget with many different sources and types of funding; reviewing accounting documents for budget execution activities such as obligations, payments, corrections, and adjustments; presenting findings and recommendations to top levels of management; preparing estimates; auditing expenditures; and utilizing an automated financial management information system to enter financial data, track funds, and develop reports. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
