About the Position: You will function as a Materials Handler (FLO/MVO), assists in the maintenance and operation of the shipping and receiving function for the Regional Rivers Repair Fleet. Performs a wide variety of product lines in support of the warehousing, shipping, and receiving of the fleet warehouse. This position is in NEVILLE ISLAND / ALLEGHENY, PENNSYLVANIA.
Duties
Oversee the warehouse inventories and use a thorough knowledge of the inventory process.
Ensure safe receipt, storage, and movement of hazardous and toxic materials in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements.
Understand the procedures for ordering, storing, issuing, inventorying, and disposing of a wide variety of supplies, equipment, tools, and materials.
Operate trucks and forklifts to load and unload materials.
Plan and organize storage areas, receive items into storages, issues, items, rearranges warehouses, transfers items between storage areas, o plans and conducts periodic inventories.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R "Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as Critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program".
- This position requires the incumbent to lift and carry materials weighing 50 pounds or more and will require a pre-employment physical exam.
- This position requires a valid State motor vehicle operator's license prior to appointment and maintain the license for the duration of employment.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain all Corps of Engineers licenses associated with this position. The Government has a Licensing Program which includes, Dump Truck, Truck and Trailer, Crane, Forklift, and Construction Equipment.
- Employee may be required to alternate working hours on all shifts and on weekdays, as well as weekends and holidays. Work also may be limited, and operations may be placed on reduced work schedules.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Materials Handler (FLO/MVO) without more than normal supervision. Performing warehousing, shipping, sorting, and receiving various types of materials; identifying all types of materials and working in warehouse setting. Operating forklifts and other light vehicles used for transport of products. Performing warehouse organization, labeling, and proper storage procedures of different classes of materials. Utilizing onsite-automated equipment and systems to prepare inventory and production reports.

Physical Effort: Work is performed in the warehouse, requiring almost constant walking on concrete floors, and standing, stooping, bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Lifts and carries supplies, materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions: Work is performed inside warehouses in bin rooms and in storage areas which may be cold, drafty, damp, or hot. Work is performed in close quarters in warehouse or bin aisles, ramps, or platforms. Exposed to injury from falling stock, from handling materials and from mechanical equipment.
