Duties

This position is located within the Department of the Interior (DOI), Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), Gulf of Mexico Outer-Continental Shelf (OCS) Region (GOMR), Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Records Office in Jefferson, LA. At the full performance level (GS-13) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Develops guidelines and provides bureau-wide support on the creation, maintenance, and use of records. 2. Serves as the lead expert on records scheduling. 3. Advocates for ongoing and newly established records management practices that encourage compliance with federal laws and regulations. 4. Supports a comprehensive network of liaisons and coordinators. 5. Implements and supports tools for the management of records in all formats, including electronic records content storage, and other records management software applications and services. BSEE has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval. Salary Information GS-13: $103,409 (Step 1) - $134,435 (Step 10) per annum First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level. This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.

Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify for this position, you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series to which you are applying. Specialized Experience To qualify for the GS-13, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1. Scheduling records and in the application of records disposition schedules; 2. Preparing and transferring a variety of Federal Records, in all media formats; 3. Working with computer technology and, particularly, of electronic records management; 4. Practically applying legal and regulatory mandates associated with records management; AND 5. Operational experience of processes involved in the life cycle of records. Must meet all.
