You will serve as a Security Assistant in the NOOX Department of the Expeditionary Warfare Training Group, Atlantic of OFFICE OF THE COMMANDING GENERAL.

Duties

You will assist the Command Security Manager in the day-to-day administrative and daily security operations. You will serve as the Assistant Physical Security Officer, maintaining personnel identification and access control systems. You will prepare and issue Security ID badges and access cards while maintaining up-to-date information of all authorized names, access authorities, and times. You will process requests for security clearances (e.g, Top Secret, Secret, and Confidential) for personnel, students, contractors, government employees, and official visitors. You will prepare and submit investigative packages. You will maintain security automated systems with the most current information. You will schedule finger print appointments and maintain/enter data into system You will draft/edit/distribute correspondences, reports, directives, Investigator's reports, and memos ensuring proper spelling and grammar. You will communicate with Commander, Executive Officer and other security management on any classified security matters. You will answer incoming calls, greet visitors, and receive/distribute incoming mail.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal
  • You will be required to be eligible for a Top Secret Clearance

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Performing data entry and maintenance of databases containing detailed personnel information for facilitating access to controlled areas or networks; 2) Processing requests for, preparing, and issuing security ID badges or access cards to large numbers of personnel (e.g., active duty military, government civilians, contractors) requiring access to controlled spaces based on established security directives; 3) Preparing and submitting required documentation in response to requests for information concerning clearance actions, coordinating with requesting office, security office, and preparing responses to other installations for approval by appropriate staff; 4) Preparing correspondences, reports, memos, and directives ensuring correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and conformance to established letter format; and 5) Managing routine daily phone calls, incoming correspondence or mail, and customer interactions to determine appropriate routing for action by appropriate departments Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
