About the Position: Serves as Chief, Security and Information Technology Division.
This position covered by this vacancy announcement may/will be transitioning to Army Futures Command, Science and Technology Reinvention Laboratory (AFC STRL) Mod Demo Pay band DB category 04 (Equivalent to GS14-GS15).
Pay range includes ($122,198 - $186, 854). The selectee will be notified when the position is transitioned into AFC STRL Mod Demo Pay band.
Duties
Provides program conversion assistance and programming services in support of TRAC-WSMR analytical activities.
Develops and maintains software systems for automated management information data retrieval and hardware/software for the organization.
Provides software and operating support services for information systems facilities to monitor and control Information Technology (IT) operations/contracts.
Conducts necessary analysis to provide required computer support to meet Activity needs to include Model and Simulation (M and S) mission objectives.
Serves as the TRAC Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information.
- This position is covered by the civilian drug abuse testing program. Condition of employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the drug abuse testing program, or a memorandum of understanding (MOU).
- The position requires extensive TDY travel (25%) in the accomplishment of duties and responsibilities.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
- A one year supervisory probationary period may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below:
BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Successful completion of a bachelor's or higher degree in operations research or successful completion of a bachelor's or higher degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 hours must be in calculus.

In addition to meeting the basic education requirement above, you must also meet the specialized experience requirements below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) executing IT and cyber security supporting complex major analytical studies; 2) experience developing and preparing high quality and comprehensive written and oral communications; 3) experience with information technology such as system administration, network services, or data management; and 4) experience directing and leading diverse teams.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
