You will serve as a HR Assistant (Military/OA) in the CMD Operations Division of FRC DET MIDLANT PAX RIVER MD MPN.
This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
You will manage military leave program for department.
You will manage the enlisted evaluation program for FRCMA Detachment in Patuxent River, MD.
You will obtain military service records as required, maintain control and access and accountability of service records.
You will process all incoming and outgoing military personnel.
You will process and track permanent change of station (PCS) packages through Chain of Command.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
This position requires the incumbent to be a qualified typist. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of qualifying experience include: 1) Communicating orally to relay information to military and management; 2) Interpreting and applying regulations and procedures pertaining to military personnel; 3) Utilizing a variety of functions to operate a personal computer; and 4) Initiating and/or completing personnel actions which affect pay, advancement, and retention of personnel.

Education
Successful completion of four years of education above high school level may be substituted for one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-4 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
