You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the Integrated Product Support Branch of the Strategic Systems Hardware Division in the Global Deterrence Defense Department for NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $134,435).
Duties
You will perform Quality Assurance (QA) reviews of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Preventative Maintenance Procedures (PMPs).
You will independently gather information from Subject Matter Experts (SME) and various analyses to develop, organize, and create technical manuals and procedural documentation.
You will work with various departments and functional areas to research, edit, and develop new and existing documentation.
You will develop and present findings, reports or recommendations to analysts, employees, and managers inside or outside of the organization, agency heads or other high-ranking officials.
You will apply law, policies, regulations, principles, standards and procedures to management and program analysis activities (e.g., developing studies, metrics, and methods, advising others).
You will organize and maintain technical documentation information management systems.
You will lead a team of 5 to 10 Technical Writers in development and sustainment of numerous technical publications matrixed across multiple projects.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower band, NT-04 (GS-11/12) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector researching, editing, and writing technical documents, specifications or instructions to ensure the accuracy of publications prior to distribution.
