You will serve as an Engineering Equipment Operator in the Production Division, Public Works Department Crane of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will operate one or more types of heavy equipment, such as bulldozers, snow plows, truck tractors, dump trucks, wreckers, fuel trucks, large buses, snow plows or other equipment to complete work assignments. You will level earth to rough specifications to construct / restore roads. You will manipulate controls to adjust spreaders, sprayers, post hole diggers, backhoes, moveable dozer blades, and front-end loading devices.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You may be required to act as rigger or signal person during crane operations.
  • You are required to obtain and maintain a current Class A Commercial Drivers' License with N (Tanker) and H (Hazardous Material), or X (Tanker and HAZMAT) license endorsements.
  • You may be required to operate hand-held radio to communicate with work crew.
  • You may be designated as a Competent Person.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You may be required to obtain and maintain a valid Construction and Weight Handling Equipment Operator Certification.
  • You may be required to satisfactorily complete prescribed training courses associated with trenching and excavation activities.
  • You may be required to satisfactorily complete prescribed training courses associated with general crane safety and rigging activities.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You may at any time be assigned to a similar position at any site or workstation within the commuting area.

Qualifications

This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: This position requires a Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with N (Tanker) and H (Hazardous Material); or X (Tanker and HAZMAT) license endorsements.
