You will serve as a Public Affairs Specialist in the Corporate Business & Analysis Group, Command Communications Department, Strategic Communications Division, Public Affairs Branch of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU.

Duties

You will provide timely and uninhibited access to public information without violating privacy or security concerns. You will communicate to internal and external audiences about NAWCWD’s programs, activities, and missions. You will assist in researching and providing information to the Strategic Communications Division Head/Command PAO on all relevant public affairs matters that may impact the command. You will assist with coordination for the Command representative’s attendance at and participation in conferences and community-oriented speaking engagements.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

DA-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DA-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Developing, writing, editing, reviewing, and approving materials in multiple formats for release to internal and external audiences; 2) Responding in oral and written form to requests for information, researching responses and using the appropriate format and style based on needs and organization practices; 3) Planning and executing community engagement and VIP activities; and 4) Managing web and social media content. DA-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DA-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Developing, writing, and editing information materials in multiple formats for internal and external audiences; 2) Researching information requests from the public and media and proposing responses for supervisor review; and 3) Assisting with community engagement and VIP visit activities. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

master's or equivalent graduate degree

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
