The position is within the FAA, Air Traffic Organization, Technical Operations, which reports to the District System Support Centers. The work involves the application of the following trade practice areas: carpentry, electrical, mechanical, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), and/or plumbing trades.

Duties

Incumbent works alone or in a group performing Mechanical, Electrical, Carpentry, Plumbing, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Cable Installation/Replacement, Welding/Metal Fabrication, Painting, and concrete work.

Requirements

• US Citizenship is required.
• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• Successful completion of a Background investigation may be required.
• Possession of appropriate State and Government vehicle operator's licenses or permits is required.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must demonstrate that you are able to do the work of a Maintenance Mechanic under normal supervision; possess knowledge of the application of the following trade practice areas: carpentry, electrical, mechanical, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), and/or plumbing trades. In addition to the minimum qualifications, the following has been determined to be a Screen-out Element for this position. This means possession of this criterion is part of the minimum qualifications and is essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.
