The Light Duty Vehicle Divisions provides national leadership in the planning, formulation, and development of safety standards for improvements in vehicle crashworthiness in the areas of crash protection to vehicle occupants and vulnerable road users outside the vehicle, and crash survivability characteristics.

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications. To qualify for the Grade 15, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equal or equivalent to the GS-14, it must include:
Experience initiating and coordinating comprehensive and effective short-and long-range motor vehicle safety programs.
Experience using engineering principles to help solve difficult and complex problems concerning occupant crash protection.
Experience briefing and reporting to the many levels of agency management on proposed rulemaking approaches.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Demonstrated ability to apply an understanding of technical and/or engineering principles to evaluate and establish safety performance standards of motor vehicle and/or motor vehicle equipment.
Demonstrated ability to direct and manage human and other resources.
Demonstrated quality in written and oral communications, including the ability to represent and speak authoritatively for an organization.
