In this position, you will serve as the Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist (Recovery) for Region Nine, Recovery Division, Individual Assistance Branch. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of emergency management operations and Individual Assistance Programs. They will have experience collaborating with Federal, State, local, tribal, territorial, nongovernmental organizations and the private sector. They will also have experience implementing community disaster relief programs.

What will I do in this position if hired?
In this Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist (Recovery) position, you will oversee staff who perform substantive mission-oriented work in a FEMA region by providing disaster support and delivering disaster assistance. You will serve as a senior level advisor to regional recovery staff and leadership concerning policy issues dealing with assisting individuals and/or communities.

To qualify for this Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist (Recovery) position at the IC-13 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-12 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:
Supervising a team of employees regarding the delivery of disaster recovery programs;
Providing technical guidance on federal laws, regulations, and/or policies governing disaster recovery programs; and
Communicating disaster recovery programs and/or initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
