About the Position: This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

Develop and implement metrics to track trends and outcomes. Serve as strategic assistant director of machine learning. Identify developmental and training needs of employees.

• Maybe required to travel TDY 10% of the time.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirements: A. Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE UPLOADED, or you may not be eligible for referring to the hiring manager. OR Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience. In addition to the BASIC Requirement: Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes modernizing research and analytics in machine learning, and the application thereof. Machine learning spans multiple fields to include computer vision, graph and anomaly detection, operational performance, programmatic optimization, talent management, and related fields.
