You will serve as a Telecommunications Specialist in the Rapid Capability Engineering Group, Rapid Capability Solutions Department, Ship and Air Integrated Warfare Division, Combat Systems Engineering and Integration Branch of NAWCAD WEBSTER OUTLYING FIELD.

Duties

You will provide technical leadership and oversight for planning, resourcing, and coordinating all aspects of systems development and fielding on the Ships during the new construction and modernization periods. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams in procurement, integration, and testing efforts of multiple radio communications and combat air weapons systems. You will interpret policies promulgated by authorities to determine their effect on program needs. You will maintain active liaison with internal and external contacts to support assigned program/project goals and objectives.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the pay band (DS-05) or (GS-12/13) grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Providing expert guidance and rapid program/project management for technical and operational functions to include high quality engineering/technical support in developing rapid solutions; 2) Overseeing planning and coordination efforts amongst team members, sponsors, and ships to ensure resource and ship availability to execute installations of radio communications; 3) Leading multi-disciplinary teams participating in developing new radio communications and combat air weapons systems design, system design documentation, design reviews, program management reviews, and technical information meetings; 4) Reporting on progress to all stakeholder's, while ensuring closeout installation efforts are complete; 5) Representing agency as a subject matter expert on matters pertaining to the resources required for the design and installation of radio communications and combat air weapons systems for both ship and shore-based platforms, and 6) Serving as a technical authority with all awarded shipyards (LMAs) for all ship alterations assigned to a respective surface modernization effort to include coordination/planning for all shipyard services required to execute installation requirements.
