The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Front Office Director of Staff utilizing expert level analytical methods to plan, develop, and lead implementation of organizational support requirements for a diverse Research and Development organization.
Duties
Plan, develop, and lead implementation of organizational support requirements for a diverse R&D organization.
Provide oversight and coordination of front office group support staff, overseeing the continuity and effective management of day-to-day administration of staff functions.
Oversee timely tasker accomplishment; coordinate with/advise divisions on responses, and review/edit/prepare/compile outgoing products.
Identify Directorate mission requirements such as funds, transition partners, and R&D opportunities, and advocate for resources and coordinate solutions.
Develop Directorate strategic communication strategy and ensure execution, providing high-level briefing development.
Initiate or recommend actions to improve operations and coordination of the organization. Lead special projects/initiatives for the Director/Deputy

Qualifications
This is an interdisciplinary position, which means that the duties and responsibilities of the position relate to the General Engineer (0801), Materials Engineer (0806), Electrical Engineer (0850), Electronics Engineer (0855), General Physical Scientist (1301), Physicist (1310), Chemist (1320). Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Individual Occupational Requirements for the 0800 and 1300 series are in the Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Professional and Scientific Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

DR-03 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must or will have at least one year (52 weeks) within 120 days of closing of this announcement of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
