This position is located in the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). The mission of OFCCP is to enforce, for the benefit of job seekers and wage earners, the contractual promise of affirmative action and equal employment opportunity required of those who do business with the Federal government. This position is Inside the bargaining unit.

Duties

Major Duties: Reviews case files in Compliance Management System (CMS) for completeness and ensures appropriate documents are uploaded and follow OFCCP's naming convention. Monitors the terms of consent decrees, conciliation agreements, and letters of commitment by evaluating reports in accordance with supervisory instructions. Extracts statistical information from electronic case files to develop an analysis of underrepresentation among protected classes. Collects previous compliance review reports, employment discrimination complaints, and reports made by contractor firms and abstracts data needed by Compliance Specialists in conducting reviews and negotiating compliance agreements. Participates with Compliance Specialists in the on-site portion of reviews and investigations by compiling and assembling statistical and factual information from contractor records and by conducting interviews of complainants and employees of contractor firms. Responds to a wide variety of procedural and technical inquiries received from telephone and personal callers and to written requests for information. OFCCP enforces E.O. 11246, as amended; Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and 38 U.S.C. 4212 of the Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974, as amended. Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Candidate required to obtain the necessary security/investigation level.
  • Requires a probationary period if the requirement has not been met.
  • Appointment to this position may require a background investigation.

Qualifications

This position requires foreign language proficiency in Spanish. In this instance, the incumbent receives assignments involving contact with people who may be unable to communicate effectively using the English language, thereby requiring the incumbent to communicate in the person's native foreign language. In carrying out the duties of this position, the incumbent is required to communicate effectively in English and a foreign language when interacting with people conducting duties of this position. You must meet the Basic Requirements listed in the Education Requirements section and the Specialized Experience to qualify for Investigative Assistant (Spanish), as described below. Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. IN DESCRIBING YOUR EXPERIENCE, PLEASE BE CLEAR AND SPECIFIC. THIS IS IMPERATIVE IN DETERMINING IF WHETHER YOU HAVE AT LEAST 1 YEAR OF CREDITABLE SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE. DATES WILL NOT BE ASSUMED. GS-05: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 level in the Federal Service. Qualifying specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position such as: Experience responding to inquiries from internal and/or external stakeholders. Experience compiling data from a variety of sources. Experience preparing correspondence such as memos and/or reports. And/or Successfully completed four (4) full years of education above high school level. The education was obtained at an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. GS-06: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the Federal Service. Qualifying specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position such as: Experience coordinating travel arrangements to include preparing travel requests and authorizations. Experience managing calendars in order to make meeting arrangements and resolve meeting conflicts. Experience responding to inquiries from internal and/or external stakeholders. Experience gathering data to assist in equal opportunity compliance reviews and investigations.
