This Career/Career-Conditional, Permanent Full-Time position is located in Statue Of Liberty National Monument, in the Professional Services Division.

Duties

Serves as a Senior Principal Advisor in the management of cultural resources management and is responsible for program development and implementation for Statue of Liberty National Monument. Duties include, but are not limited to: Applying principles, methods and theories of one or more of the professional fields listed. Performing a wide range of duties associated with the park's cultural resources including, as appropriate, history, archeology, historic architecture, cultural anthropology, cultural landscapes and archives/collections. Solving complex problems covering diverse cultural resources management situations. Supervising and leading cultural resources programs and operations to develop a variety of integrated management and operating plans, to design program/project schedules including estimates of personnel, equipment, and materials, and manage diverse technical and administrative challenges to protect Park resources.

In addition to meeting the basic education requirement(s) above, you must possess one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: planning and conducting inventories of cultural resources to determine their condition; implementing projects or plans to preserve, restore, or mitigate the impact on cultural resources; ensuring projects meet applicable cultural resource laws and regulations (e.g. National Historic Preservation Act, etc.); collaborating with stakeholders to resolve common problems or build consensus; and writing a variety of technical reports or presentations. You must include hours per week worked. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Please remember you must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as "varies". CTAP/ICTAP: Current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) or the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) must be well qualified for the position to receive consideration for special priority selection. Well qualified means that the applicant meets the following: OPM qualification standards for the position; all selective placement factors, where applicable; special qualifying conditions that OPM has approved for the position, where applicable; is physically qualified with reasonable accommodation, where appropriate to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position upon entry; and is rated by the organization at least at the well qualified level on all competencies.
