You will serve as an EQUAL EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST in the FLT EEO PROGRAM DIVISION of COMMANDER US FLEET FORCES COMMAND.

Duties

You will fully participate with the Equal Employment Opportunity Manager in planning, developing and promoting the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program. You will conduct barrier analysis efforts to identify and eliminate impediments to equality of opportunity. You will conduct analysis of workforce characteristics, utilization of employee by age, race and other bases. You will serve as an EEO advisor on a variety of committees. You will independently administer informal Equal Opportunity complaint program for assigned activities. You will provide advice and assistance to management, supervisors, representatives, employees and applicants to ensure workplace policies are carried out per existing case law regulations.

Requirements

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

FOR THE GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing expert advice regarding laws, regulations, executive orders, court decisions and issues related to the Federal Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Program. Experience administering all aspects of a local EEO program. Experience ensuring compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements; and interpreting Federal Personnel and Equal Employment Opportunity statues/programs. FOR THE GS-9: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience assisting in providing advice regarding laws, regulations, executive orders, court decisions and issues related to the Federal Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Program. Experience assisting with the administration of a local EEO program, ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements. Education

FOR THE GS-11:
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.M., if related
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.

FOR THE GS-09:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
