About the Position: Serves as an Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist performing a variety of functions in support of USAG Fort Riley EEO program.

Duties

Participate as a member of a team to manage the EEO complaints processing program, along with compliance with reasonable accommodation laws. Update the Army's iComplaints system with required data and documentation for assigned caseload. Assist in establishing and maintaining special emphasis program. Assist management officials, administrative officers, legal, human resources, and safety and occupational health personnel to implement an effective reasonable accommodation (RA) process for individuals with disabilities. Support Equal Employment Opportunity team in implementing a model Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: One full academic year of graduate-level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as, Business Ethics and Compliance, Equal Opportunity Law or Human Relations. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Specialized Experience GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes experience reviewing regulations/policies/directives pertaining to a Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Program to provide assistance to team members and management officials, utilize fact finding methods in gathering all relevant information of requests received, ensuring compliance with applicable laws. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Ethics and Compliance, Equal Opportunity Law or Human Relations. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. Provide guidance to team members, management officials and complainants on procedures, utilize fact finding methods in gathering all relevant information of allegations received, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Equal Opportunity Law. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement for GS-07: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
