About the Position: This position is located at Ft. Novosel, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Novosel is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding areas for family and fun.

Duties

Prepares inventory adjustment reports, causative research, and financial liability investigations of property loss. (FLIPL) Develops, implements, and modifies program policies and procedures to meet the ever-changing needs of the field in sustaining ATC systems. Develops substitute items information and contacts operating elements to obtain concurrence in the usage of the substitute items. Reviews inventory stock adjustments listings. Responsible for preparation of inventory adjustment reports, causative research, and financial liability investigation of property loss (FLIPL). Monitors utilization and performs continual analysis to ensure adequate levels of a 5,000 line-item ATC-unique non-repairable spare parts inventory remain available to sustain Army systems. Accomplishes of all tasks essential for the procurement of parts from the federal supply system, other government agencies, or industry; receiving; storing/warehousing; inventorying; issuing, and accounting for highly sensitive electronic equipment. Determines if items can be temporarily obtained from other sources and if program requirements cannot be met by the supplying activity. Contacts supply activities who normally stock or control component parts to determine if items may be obtained from established accounts to fulfill the immediate demand. Makes reciprocal agreement to return borrowed components as expeditiously as possible. Performs continual follow-up through the various phases of stock control clerical processing, local procurement or fabrication, processing and packing of materiel prior to shipment, etc., to meet required shipping date. Attends conferences and meetings when agenda includes subject matter peculiar to area of management.

Requirements

  • Incumbent may be expected to travel on temporary duty (TDY) up to 10% of the time worldwide.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: knowledge of principles, methods, and techniques used in inventory management to support major programs (i.e. RADARS, VHF Omnidirectional Range VOR navigation aids) or functions; shipping and receiving items; conducting inventories, monitoring and evaluating supply activities and record management; operating supply systems to enter, update, and retrieve information; overseeing supply charges using electronic commerce automated system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Successfully completed a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D. if related. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
