This position will be working third (3rd) shift, Mon-Fri, 2000-0400. First week will be during the day for training purposes. It is located in the Fitness Complex, Fitness/Sports/Aquatics Division of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Directorate, SUBASE, Kings Bay, Georgia. The purpose of this position is to maintain sanitary conditions within the Fitness Complex premises to include cleaning, trash disposal, and providing general upkeep.
Duties
Performs one or more of the following duties: Scrubs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors using heavy (industrial-type) powered scrubbers and buffers. Vacuum cleans rugs, using heavy (industrial-type) vacuum cleaner. Adjusts, cleans and oils these machines, and changes brushes, rollers, buffers, and other attachments on them. Washes and replaces blinds, changes light bulbs and washes ceiling fixtures and room partitions, using ladders and scaffolds. Moves heavy furniture, supplies and equipment. Keeps restrooms in clean, orderly and sanitary condition. Cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls. Cleans mirrors, sinks, and water fountains. Dusts ledges and woodwork. Replaces deoderizes, toilet tissue, hand towels, and soap. Maintains a stock of cleaning materials and equipment and notifies supervisor when more are needed. Cleans showers, sauna and steam room. Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
- Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
- You must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
- May be required to pass pre-employment examinations.
- Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National.
- A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
- Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.

Experience must demonstrate the following:
Knowledge and skill sufficient to read signs, follow simple oral and written instructions.
Ability to work safely while moving lightweight objects.
Ability to use powered equipment and perform minor maintenance on equipment.
Ability to learn Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
Ability to exercise continual care, due to nature of tools and equipment used, and the weight of objects handled.
Ability to receive instructions and complete routine duties involving several distinct tasks or steps independently or with little to no supervision.
Ability to exert moderately heavy physical effort in controlling heavy equipment, carrying and setting up heavy equipment.
Ability to continually stand, bend, stoop, and reach; frequently lifting and moving objects weighing about 40 lbs. and occasionally objects weighing over 50 lbs.
Ability to be exposed to dirt and disagreeable odors.
