Duties
The incumbent in this position will develop system administration requirements and specifications - adapting practices and procedures to ensure execution of priorities and compliance with sound systems management; interpreting guidelines; and adapting to new or emerging requirements.
This is a National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) National Cybersecurity Workforce Framework. The incumbent performs Cybersecurity roles and responsibilities outlined in the NICE Framework.
Major duties included but are not limited to:
Plans, upgrades, modifies, configures, and documents communications systems and associated infrastructure.
Manages on and off premise-based infrastructure that supports organization Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIO) and Radio over Internet Protocol (RoIP) systems.
Identifies and assesses the extent and operational impact of network and Information Technology services for immediate service restoration actions.
Optimize functionality and performance of systems, maintain integrity with configuration problems and initiate corrective or preventive actions to failed systems.
Consults with customers to identify priorities and best approaches for integrating systems administration requirements into daily operations.

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the BASIC REQUIREMENT and then meet the SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE for the grade level.
BASIC REQUIREMENT:
EXPERIENCE: Experience in Information Technology experience that demonstrates all of the following competencies: 1) Attention to Detail-thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail; 2) Customer Service-works with clients and customers to assess needs, provide information and assistance, resolve problems; knowledgeable about IT products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services; 3) Oral Communication Skills-expresses information to individuals and groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately; and 4) Problem Solving-identified problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives and to make recommendations.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for this position at the GS-12 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities and demonstrate knowledge of computer requirements and techniques in carrying out project assignments consisting of several related tasks. The assignments must have shown completion of the following or be equivalent: Analysis of the interrelationships of pertinent components of the system; Planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment; and Personal responsibility for at least a segment of the overall project. Examples of specialized experience includes the following: identifying and resolving difficult customer service requests; preparing and updating manuals, instructions, and operating procedures; supporting systems that involve a wide variety of different platforms, operating systems, applications, and desktop configurations; and managing a problem resolution database (reviewing, validating, and standardizing problem resolutions for inclusion in the database). You must include hours per week worked.
