You will serve as a Administrative/Technical Specialist in the Information Technology Division, Corporate Operations Department of Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14.

Duties

You will serve as an IT External Communications lead. You will be responsible for maintaining and formulating network connection requirements, developing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility. You will prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data-compliance, performance of the network circuit(s) necessary to accomplish the goals and objectives of the organization and base tenants. You will provide support services related to IT Data Center of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division and other base tenants. You will be responsible for the design, mapping, maintenance, upgrades and installs of existing and new fiber for the Crane Base fiber infrastructure. You will coordinate meetings with tenants for the purpose of allocating resources and prioritization of base fiber requirements and projects. You will develop Statements of Work, specifications, service levels, and scope for fiber projects. You will manage and continually assess current, emergent, and future fiber requirements in coordination with other tenants and leadership.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 pay band (GS-11/12 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector leading the design, mapping, maintenance, or installation of new or existing fiber cables to ensure the reliability and accessibility of information systems.
