You will serve as a INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Technical Services Field Office (TSFO) of NCIS. All Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) positions are in the excepted service. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status. This job opportunity announcement has a first cut-off 50 applicants. Duties

You will interpret policy for specific operating requirements to develop guidance for applying supply policy, procedures, techniques, equipment and methods to variety of supply issues. You will initiate the requisition of, receiving and cataloging of equipment and supplies. You will develop discrepancy report as necessary and coordinate with the applicable department or vendors to correct discrepant conditions. You will manage and administers reports of lost, stolen, damaged property for the field office and field activates. You will perform physical inventory of property on regular basis. You will uses a Government Purchasing Card (GPC) to make open market purchases IAW DoN Consolidated Card Program Management (CCPMD) guidelines.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Oversees the distribution and inventory of equipment and materials; managing and administering report of lost, stolen, or damaged property; perform physical inventory of property, equipment and materials; AND initiate equipment repairs with vendor, procurement replacement and disposal of items. GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting with managing distribution and inventory of equipment and materials; preparing report of lost, stolen, or damaged property; perform physical inventory of property, equipment and materials. For the GS-11: In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on equivalent education, as follows:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.M., if related
OR
Combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience.

For the GS-09: In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on equivalent education, as follows:

Master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
Combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience.
