About the Position: Supports National Training Center Forces Command (NTC FORSCOM) Web technology efforts at the direction of the Strategic Communications Specialist by developing new content and designing/developing new features to enhance the NTC FORSCOM intranet/internet Websites, SharePoint, Facebook, Twitter, Alert/Warning System, and ePortal environments utilizing state-of-the-art communication strategies.

Duties

Oversee the management of Internet and Web-based services and sites. Improve the use of communication tools to provide important agency information to the public. Advise Command on possible public implications on proposed programs and activities of the Installation. Analyze public feedback by monitoring blogs, article comments, and electronic media. Manage access permissions for collaboration tools like SharePoint. Manage the publication of brochures, pamphlets, photographs, films, video productions, or other digital media.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 15% of the time.
  • This position may require irregular hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations to provide coverage.
  • This position may require working overtime, both scheduled and unscheduled.
  • Designated "Mission Essential", this position requires the incumbent to report for duty during inclement weather, Natural Disasters, and other emergency situations and to maintain a functioning telephone to aid in contact during emergency situations.
  • This position requires the successful completion of the Public Affairs Qualification Course within twelve (12) months of employment.

OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Communications, Journalism, Marketing or Public Relations. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
