Duties
The primary duties of this position are:
Serves as the initial point of contact for correspondence for the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Manager. Reviews, edits, and finalizes outgoing correspondence for procedural and grammatical accuracy, conformance with general policy, factual correctness, and adequacy of treatment. Controls and monitors confidential and highly sensitive correspondence.
Arranges travel for the EEO Manager and staff, arranges schedule for site visits, secures vouchers and reports from travel agencies.
Maintains a complete and current schedule of appointments, meetings, conferences, briefing and similar activities.
Counsels employees who contact EEO with allegations of possible discrimination. Listens to, discusses, and answers questions of employees regarding highly charged emotional issues. Conducts fact-finding to establish a limited record (Counselor's Report) for further evaluation.
Maintains time and attendance for EEO Office, including creating Key/WOIDs and provides training as required/requested to others in time and attendance functions.
Qualifications
GS-07: In order to qualify for the GS-07 grade level, your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience equivalent in complexity and difficulty to at least the GS-06 grade level in Federal service.
Specialized Experience for GS-07: Defined as experience finalizing correspondence in addition to at least two of the following areas: inputting time into an automated time and attendance system, making travel reservations, complaint processing, or performing a variety of administrative and support functions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-In-Grade: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower-grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
Selective Placement Factor: Applicants must possess typing skill of at least 40 words per minute. Certification may be a certificate of proficiency dated within the past 3 years or self-certification by stating current speed on your application for employment/resume.
You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements, including time-in-grade restrictions and any selective placement factors if applicable, by 04/08/2024.
