Duties

Serve as a Supervisory Staff Administrator for an Army Reserve Brigade, Group, or comparable size element. Exercise supervision over the daily activities of a full time staff. Formulate plans and programs to insure consistent implementation of the Commander’s objectives. Provide advice to the Commander and staff on a variety of programs associated with carrying out the organization’s mission. Conduct analysis of programs and activities through the review of reports. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates and set and adjust short term priorities.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing operations and programs for a unit in the areas of personnel and pay management, training, administration, supply, maintenance operations, information management, resource management, recruitment, inspections and investigations, public relations, and/or security; analyzing and providing guidance on directives, policies, or instructions from higher headquarters; maintaining oversight of the overall readiness status of subordinate units; and exercising supervision over the daily activities of a full time staff. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
