About the position: This position will be assigned to Outdoor Recreation at Seymour Johnson AFB
Th is a Flexible position, hours range from 0-40 hours per week depending on the needs of the facility.
Must be able to preform moderate to heavy lifting up to 40 pounds.
Duties
Plans, develops, coordinates and conducts a variety of classes, trips, and clinics in support of a diverse Outdoor Recreation Program and Aquatics program. Within overall plans developed by higher levels. select activities and services to be offered in addition to required basic programs. Creates, schedules, publicizes, and promotes various classes, trips, programs and other activities targeting outdoor adventure and recreation programs. Provides instruction, guidance and leadership to participants, modifying, adapting, expanding, or otherwise changing plans and procedure for specific activities as developments require. Submits program plans to encompass cast and price, manpower, logistical support, marketing and publicity. Ensures compliance with state and local agencies and their regulatory requirements. Accounts for all funds involved in the program and makes recommendations. Assists with the budget for fiscal year program requirements. Develops and implements procedures to monitor, track, and document program effectiveness and success. Reports progress and make recommendations on program planning, coordination and follow-up procedures to the Recreation Assistant Supervisor Programmer. Utilize various software programs in researching, networking, exchanging, information and establishing historical files. Monitors the condition and inventory of Outdoor Recreation equipment and supplies used to support the program. Requisitions new equipment and supplies. Performs preventative maintenance on Outdoor Recreation equipment and assists in repairing and maintaining all recreation equipment assigned to Outdoor Recreation. Recruits, Organizes, and trains volunteer leaders as needed. Assists the Recreation Assistant Supervisor Programmer in providing transportation/vehicle support to the Outdoor Recreation Program. Works an irregular tour of duty. In the absence of the supervisor may assume responsibilities associated with that position. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience which provided a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs. Must have extensive knowledge of the concepts, principles, and techniques of a broad range of outdoor recreation programs. Must have in depth knowledge of the concepts, principles, and techniques of a broad range of outdoor recreation programs. Must have in depth knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations. Strong organization and planning skills required. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to motivate, train, and work effectively with coworkers and volunteers. Knowledge of lifesaving techniques applied to WSI, skiing, rafting, hiking and other outdoor recreation activities. Experience and familiarity with Microsoft Office software programs are highly desirable. Must be able to perform moderate to heavy lifting up to 40 pounds. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license. Required to obtain and retain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL), at the activity's expense. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. Availability to work uncommon hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays and work a schedule that flexes with the program schedule demands.
