About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the US Army Cyber Command at Fort Eisenhower, Georgia.

Duties

Ensures continuity of operations of the IG and managing the administrative functions of the IG. Responsible for the quality control of inspection reports, investigations, and other correspondence released by the IG. Shares in the management, direction, coordination, and control of all missions related to Inspector General functions for the command. Provides technical guidance and advice to assigned ARCYBER personnel. Serves as Rater and provides direct, technical, and administrative supervision over one employee.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
• Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain TOP SECRET clearance.
• Incumbent is required to sign a DA 5019, Drug Free Federal Workplace Program, and agree to submit to urinalysis testing on a recurring basis.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain access to NSA and Defense Intelligence (DIA) accredited facilities and networks. Military External Affairs Division (MEAD) Security In-processing (SIP) process.
• TDY may be required approximately 25% of the time.
• Incumbent may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
• This is a mission essential position - incumbent will be expected to report to or remain at your worksite during dismissal or closure situation.
• Applicants referred for consideration will be subject to a database check against the Army’s IGARS database to screen for substantiated and ongoing IG investigations.
• All Army IG candidates selected as IGs or assistant IGs must graduate the basic IG qualification course at The Inspector General School. IG candidates will not perform IG functions until completing the IG certification process.
• Incumbent must attend the IG advanced course every five years. Civilian IGs who fail to attend the IG advanced course may be subject to decertification by The Inspector General.
• Incumbent must complete a counterintelligence scope polygraph exam.

Specialized experience would be demonstrated by (1) advising management of all inspector general (IG) programs, (2) provide technical advice and oversight to varying personnel, (3) conducting inspections, investigations, assistance reviews, and inquiries for complex multi mission organizations, (4) performing vulnerability assessments, and (5) providing administrative supervision over multiple areas such as lower level employees, personnel actions, work schedules, and identifying training needs.
