You will serve as a Financial Technician in the Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.
This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
You will be responsible for processing accounting transactions (i.e. commitments, obligations, asset creation, account payables, and cash payments).
You will review financial transactions for errors and prepare accurate adjustment transactions in accordance with functional team and Comptroller guidelines.
You will work with other team members, team leads, and supervisors to coordinate operational support and to provide a high quality of service to all customers in a timely, professional manner.
You will research problems, formulate questions and generate appropriate corrective transactions.
Requirements

- This is a Financial Management Level 01 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or DG-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing data entry, utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel; 2) Verifying and reviewing financial documents and data; 3) Reviewing, understanding, and complying with established financial policies and regulations; and 4) Providing customer service on financial and/or accounting matters.

4 years of post high school level education leading to a bachelor's degree
