This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration. Serves as an Archives Technician working under a supervisor or higher-graded technician experienced in standard records management activities in support of agency records management needs. Incumbent perform various duties related to the delivery, transfer, reference, and accessioning or disposition of records. Work performed will be in a warehouse environment, physically handling materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-5, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-4 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Operating office automation programs for maintaining database information;
AND
Reviewing files or documents for completeness and compliance with established guidelines;
AND
Responding to customer inquiries, verbally or in writing.
OR
You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: 4 years above high school.
OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education.
NOTE: Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.
Advancement to positions up to GS-5: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-05 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment.
Education
Education Requirements: The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
