DCSA's Facility Management Office (FMO) is seeking a Facilities Operations Specialist. In this role you will serve as a Leader and integrate FMO's strategic plan, mission, and vision into the team's strategies, work plans, and services. You will also serve as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) on various contracts. This is an excellent opportunity for those with knowledge & experience providing expertise in areas of maintenance systems and facility planning projects.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-11 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility.
Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Applying a comprehensive range of principles, concepts, and practices concerning facility administration sufficient to evaluate, adapt, or modify procedures and practices concerning property, facilities, mechanical, utility and fire alarm systems, buildings, equipment, plans, and grounds. Communicating effectively with team and customers on problems and projects to be solved. Developing and presenting information in narrative and/or statistical format to individuals and/or groups. Leading a team for project completion to include daily oversight and training. Providing expertise in areas of maintenance systems and facility planning projects. Solving complex facility technical problems through application of non-traditional theories and new developments.
Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:
1. Facilities Operations and Maintenance- Initiate, route, organize and/or coordinate required operations and maintenance activities for facilities and associated utilities and grounds.
2. Facilities Procurement and Contract Management- Participate in the life cycle of contracts from development to selection and monitor contractor performance and close-out.
3. Project Planning, Design, and Construction- Identify and validate facilities projects with customers to meet mission requirements.
4. Accountability-Holds self and others accountable for measurable high-quality, timely, and cost-effective results. Determines objectives, sets priorities, and delegates work. Accepts responsibility for mistakes. Complies with established control systems and rules.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
