THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST, Position Description Number T5264000 and is part of the UNITED STATES PROPERTY AND FISCAL OFFICE, National Guard. Veterans' preference does not apply to this vacancy due to internal merit promotion.

Duties

As a Supervisory General Supply Specialist, GS-2001-11, you will direct the development, coordination, and implementation of procedural changes; to direct the performance of management/program analysis for the logistic activities under the jurisdiction of the USPFO; and to direct acquisition, accountability, incoming, outgoing and formal transfer of logistic asset for the USPFO in support of the Federal and state mission.

  • Irregular and overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies.
  • The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: For positions for which individual occupational requirements do not specify otherwise, general experience is 3 years of progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least GS-4, that demonstrates the ability to: Monitors the status and effectiveness of material support by identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems within state logistical operations; Reviews and analyzes operational reports and plans, work schedules, planned requirements, and other data to determine and advise the Supply Management Officer and/or the USPFO. Provides guidance regarding logistic inventory control and conducting surveys of logistic supplies and inventory management functions. Such experience may have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work. Experience in substantive and relevant secretarial, clerical, or other responsible work may be qualifying as long as it provided evidence of the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) necessary to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Experience of a general clerical nature (typing, filing, routine procedural processing, maintaining records, or other nonspecialized tasks) is not creditable. Trades or crafts experience appropriate to the position to be filled may be creditable for some positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Applicants who have the 1 year of appropriate specialized experience, as indicated in the table, are not required by this standard to have general experience, education above the high school level, or any additional specialized experience to meet the minimum qualification requirements. Must have at least 1 year of experience developing goals and objectives that integrate organizational, logistics, supply, equipment, etc. objectives, to direct the development, coordination, and implementation of procedural changes; to direct the performance of management analysis for the activities under the jurisdiction of the United States Property and Fiscal Office (USPFO). Supervision of subordinates who perform complex clerical and administrative logistics/supply/equipment support and analysis of a variety of logistics, supply and equipment and funds related issues for all assigned state activities and units.

Education

High School Diploma/GED is required if you have 1 year of specialized experience

OR

If you do not have 1 year of specialized experience you must meet one of the following education requirements.

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
