Duties
This position is located under the Office of Management, Asset Forfeiture and Seized Property Division, National Disposal Branch, located in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as management expert and principal advisor to the Deputy Division Chief regarding ATF criminal investigations pertaining to violation of federal firearms and narcotics laws and resulting seizure, forfeiture, and disposal of firearms and narcotics involved.
As a Supervisory Criminal Investigator (Chief, National Disposal Branch), GS-1811-14, your typical work assignments may include:
Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Supervisory Criminal Investigator (Branch Chief), GS-1811-14, candidates MUST have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, GS-13.
Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume.
Specialized experience includes:
Manage and direct the function of work to be performed; AND
Knowledge of the daily operations for ATF's Nationwide Firearms Disposal Program; AND
Represent ATF in inter-agency meetings, conferences, and ad hoc committees on branch issues and program initiatives with policy officials at the Department of Justice; AND
Plan, coordinate, and execute innovative or strategic process improvements while executing day-to-day and/or urgent operations.
