You will serve as a TRANSPORTATION SPECIALIST in the TRANSPORTATION BRANCH of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE. Duties

You will conduct studies and special surveys to determine the current, projected, normal and emergency vehicle/ automotive equipment requirements or replacement of equipment. You will receive and physically inspect all new equipment. You will schedule transportation requests, assign operators and determine the type of vehicle/equipment required to support requests. You will ensure the government and/or Base Operating Support Contractor (BOSC) meets financial program management requirements. You will monitor and evaluate directives, instruction, regulations and policies related to the Transportation business line for potential impacts on program and funding. You will compile data on the estimated repair costs of equipment. You will maintain pre-expended stock parts bin and requisitions parts and materials used by Transportation personnel.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.

  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Conducts studies and surveys to determine the current, projected, normal, and emergency vehicle/automotive equipment requirements and/or replacements; 2) Provides technical assistance to customers on available transportation services, equipment usage/allowances/availability; 3) Monitors and evaluates directives, instructions, regulations, and policies related to the transportation business line; 4) Receives and inspects all new equipment and conduct proper classification or all equipment received for disposal; and 5) Communicates both orally and in writing, and to liaison with supported commands, clients, and stakeholders on transportation matters. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D.or equivalent doctoral degree

or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
