About the Position: This position is with the 80th Training Command (TASS), G-3 located at Richmond, Virginia.
Duties
Coordinate plans, training and mobilization requirements for a two-star level Command with representatives from a variety of organizations.
Analyze higher headquarters guidance to direct the development of guidelines and directives to support training missions.
Facilitate the successful execution of plans for major exercises, such as Combat Support Training Exercises and Extended Combat Training both CONUS and OCONUS.
Provide oversight and technical assistance to subordinate units on anti-terrorism and force protection programs.
Perform analysis on orders and directives from headquarters to determine appropriate taskings to subordinate elements.
Identify and recommend training to ensure the command's readiness posture supports an operational environment.
Exercise responsibility for a multi-million dollar operational programs budget.
Conduct evaluations, audits and inspections of a military training/force protection program to ensure compliance with applicable policies and directives.
Exercise supervision over the daily activities of a full-time staff which includes both military and civilian employees assigned to assist in carrying out the functions of the unit.
Monitor ongoing command projects and workload of subordinate personnel.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes formulating and implementing training plans or schedules; evaluating operational readiness of subordinate elements through inspections or review of reports; managing the development of military working documents such as Operational Orders or Fragmentary Orders; generating budget projections to recommend project funds; and participating in the development of senior level briefs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
