You will serve as a MARINE MACHINERY MECHANIC in the Auxiliary Systems (Shop 38A) Sea Water Systems (Shop 38B) Propulsion/Steam Systems (Shop 38C), Control Surfaces/Missile Support Systems (Shop 38D), Air/Hydraulics/AC&R Refrigeration Systems (Shop 38F), Mechanical Division (TRF-320), Repair Department (TRF-300
of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
Duties
You will remove items for repair or overhaul.
You will serve as a Marine Machinery Mechanic responsible for the removal, disassembly, cleaning, inspecting, repair, testing and installing of submarine components.
You will make needed repairs by replacing, reworking, or refinishing worn or damaged parts and components.
You will possess knowledge of submarine machinery and equipment assembly, installation, repair, and etc and the related technical practices.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision..
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an IT II level designation.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Ability to perform common tasks including making needed repairs by replacing, reworking, or refinishing worn or damaged parts and components.
Ability to perform the full range of tasks including knowledge of submarine machinery and equipment assembly, installation, repair etc. and the related technical practices.
Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment related to the marine machinery trade.
Ability to reassemble and install machinery, equipment, and components on submarines.
Ability to remove items for repair or overhaul; as well as lean and perform preventive maintenance tasks as required.
