This position is located within the Quality Management Department at the Hopi Health Care Center, in Polacca, AZ. The incumbent serves as a specialist/integrator in the implementation and ongoing support of multi-service clinical software applications used in the hospital and clinic setting for the Hopi Health Care Center.
Duties

Responsible for the Implementation and support of multi-service software packages that automate the capture of clinical encounter information and its subsequent retrieval. Manages the customization of the site parameters and addresses integration issues with other software packages.
Analyzes and evaluates processes related to information flow, serves as liaison between service lines concerning these processes, and acquires a comprehensive knowledge of the software involved to determine if there are procedural issues versus system/application deficiencies.
Assists staff in the efficient use of the current software and serves on medical center teams, wherever and whenever management determines the skills and talents of the incumbent would be best utilized.
Provides training to all services on current software applications, new features and insurers training scheduled for new users.
Coordinates with Information Resource Management (IRM) staff and other application coordinators to implement integrated packages, resolve conflicts, provide secondary support on related software modules, and insure smooth operations in areas where package scope overlaps or is integrated with other service's functions.
Qualifications

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
BASIC REQUIREMENT(S), GS-0601:Education: Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, GS-11:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples include: implementation integration and support of the RPMS and ancillary software packages; efficient performance of the EHR by ensuring accurate health data capture, display and output; monitoring for new EHR and clinical application updates and planning for the smooth implementation of new features.
OR
Completed 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position. The total percentage equals at least 100 percent to qualify for this GS-11 grade level.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, GS-12:Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples include: implementing and providing ongoing support for multi-service applications that support hospitals and clinical settings; consulting with service lines and their staff in customizing software; and training individuals in the daily operations of the applications.
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
