THIS IS AN ARMY NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a TITLE 32 MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR (MI FMS 22), Position Description Number D0841000 and is part of the MI FMS 22, Michigan Army National Guard.

Duties

***THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POSITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP*** This job is located in an Army National Guard organization. Its purpose is to operate and perform operator maintenance on one or more motor vehicles to transport personnel, supplies, materials or equipment. 1. Operates platform trucks, van trucks, dump trucks, stake trucks, cargo vans, ambulances or passenger shuttle vans which typically have an approximate gross vehicle weight (GVW) of more than 10,000 pounds and up to 26,000 pounds to transport personnel; pick up and deliver supplies, materials or equipment; and tow equipment to various locations and work sites. 2. Ensures shipping and accounting documents are with the shipment and reflect actual condition, quantities and type of material. Completes log books, maintenance records, reports and other transportation documents for accurate accounting. 3. May perform warehouse work to include issuing receiving and inventorying equipment, supplies and materials; loading and unloading of trucks; storing and pulling warehouse stock; packing and unpacking material; and repairing or replacing items on equipment.

Requirements

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Michigan Army National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the Michigan Army National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the Michigan Army National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E1 - CW4 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Months Required: 9 Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to operate and perform operator maintenance on one or more motor vehicles including platform trucks, van trucks, stake trucks, dump trucks, ambulances or patient transport vehicles, passenger shuttle vans, and cargo vans which typically have an approximate gross vehicle weight of more than 4,500 kilograms (10,000 pounds) and up to 11,700 kilograms (26,000 pounds). Experience demonstrating the ability to operate and perform operator maintenance on one or more classes of motor vehicles including pickup trucks, panel trucks, flatbed trucks, carryalls, sedans crew cab pickup trucks and HUMVEE. Experience to start, stop and maneuver assigned equipment. Experience annotating logs and records.
