About the Position: This position falls under the Defense Health Agency Northcentral Coastal Market at the Naval Medical Center Camp LeJeune under the Director of Resource Management, Material Management serving as the linen control custodian driving daily for delivery/pickup of linen and providing linen control/accountability by receiving, sorting, marking, ordering linen, and miscellaneous clerical and support functions.

Duties

Drive a two-passenger cargo van daily to transport linen to all outlying clinics, medical treatment facilities, and other designated areas on and off base. Properly load linen into vehicle using any appropriate tie downs. Perform operator maintenance and wash vehicle in compliance with established policies. Maintain acceptable linen inventory for daily clinical operations at 10 outlying dental clinics. Prepare, package and issue clean linen as directed by usage rates and supervisor. Submit orders for linen replacement. Perform administrative duties related to linen accountability, loss, damaged linen reports, reordering of linen, etc. Operate engraving machine to assist in name tag engraving.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires a pre-employment physical.
  • This position requires the employee to obtain Hepatitis B immunizations and Tuberculin testing unless exempt by physician.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver’s License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate a vehicle.

Work involves daily periods of prolonged driving to deliver and pick up linen from all outlying clinics and Naval Hospital. Working Conditions - The driver drives in all types of weather and traffic.
