This position is located in Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Director of Operations Logistics (LOGCOM) Division, Base Portsmouth, Comptroller and Base Operations Division, Property and Logistics in Portsmouth, VA
Duties
You will serve as a Material Handler Supervisor managing the receiving, inspection, warehousing, shipping and issuing of material.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.Typical work assignments include:- Provides direction for the shipping, receiving and warehousing operations for all materials destined for and from the base, tenants, and organizations not on the Base. - Responsible for physical security of stored shipments, assignment of commodity classifications, hazardous material special classifications, and accountability ensuring compliance with all regulations governing transportation of material/freight.- Oversees the storage and disposition of Regional Support Team Five government property that is excess, abandoned, beyond its useful service life, unserviceable, lost, or stolen. - Oversees the day-to-day operations of the base motor fleet programs.- Supervises the following positions, technically and administratively: Transportation Assistant, Asset Materials Managers, Mail Clerks, Materials Handlers, and Property Storekeepers.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- The position requires a pre-employment physical.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- The position requires a valid state driver's license.
- This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI)
