Duties

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises the Outdoor Adventure Program, the base trap and skeet private org. Acts as the Internship coordinator for Outdoor Recreation including recruitment and supervision of college students. Schedules Outdoor Recreation programs consistent with available resources favorable to a strong four season program while working within the limitations in available funds, facilities, staff, volunteers and resources. Organizes and leads outdoor recreation trips and events for a diverse population including active duty, retirees, dependents, authorized civilians and guests. Assists in publicizing outdoor recreation activities insuring maximum effectiveness in attracting and motivating participants. Assist in the selection, purchasing and maintaining of equipment, supplies, and services needed to accomplish scheduled outdoor recreation activities. Develops operating and capital requirements budgets, including 5 year plans, to meet OAP, and skeet objectives. Maintains an effective resource protection program for funds while acting as a cashier, preparing cost center reports, managing RECTRAC and making deposits. Has overall responsibility for managing and overseeing Air Force Funded Programs (i.e. SAPI, RecOn, R4R Legacy Program) Actively trains staff and customers on policies and procedures for operating various outdoor recreation equipment. Must schedule recurring and nonrecurring repairs and maintenance of the vehicles, trailers, and watercraft assigned to the program and insure the timely performance of these repairs. Evaluates, purchases, prices and sell a wide range of outdoor recreation resale items based on retail trends. Employee monitors several social media outlets and responds to customer feedback. Incumbent performs the following: drives one or more types of motor vehicles to include passenger vehicle, passenger van, pickup trucks towing travel and equipment trailers and water/snow recreational motor vehicles on the basis of specific assignments and schedules. Reads maps and judges/ road, traffic, water, snow and weather conditions to determine the shortest and fastest route. Fills in as Supervisor Recreation Specialist as need during specialists absence.
